Full Time
- Possess a master's degree in school business management or equivalent
- Hold or be eligible for Department of Public Instruction (DPI) (08) certification
- Possess a strong background in school finance, plant operations, human resources, risk management, nutrition services, technology, federal programs and transportation
Reports to: District Administrator
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Serves in the absence of the district administrator as the chief administrative officer of the district
2. Attends Board meetings and other meetings as the district administrator designates.
3. Prepares and submits reports and other documents as required.
4. Supervises the district’s supporting services, property, transportation, purchasing, nutrition services and business services.
5. Supervises the management of the financial affairs of the schools.
6. Assumes responsibility for budget development and long-range financial planning.
7. Is responsible for the overall administration of the department.
8. Manages the district’s risk management programs.
9. Administers a budget control system for the district.
10. Assists in recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating all clerical, financial and support staff personnel.
11. Arranges for the internal and external auditing of school accounts.
12. Interprets the financial concerns of the district to the community.
13. Serves as payroll officer for the district.
14. Assumes responsibility for tracking and depreciating school district assets.
15. Serves as liaison to community.
16. Keeps informed about price trends and market conditions.
17. Prepares all bidding documents, including notice to bidders, instruction to bidders, specifications and form of proposal.
18. Monitors all purchase requisitions and approves all purchase orders and vouchers.
19. Develops and maintains appropriate records.
20. Oversees the evaluation and supervision of kitchen, custodial, maintenance, office and transportation personnel.
21. Monitors energy conservation in the school district.
22. Administers grants.
23. Monitors asbestos and other facility environmental requirements.
24. Develops policies for the department.
25. Coordinates district safety and crisis response programs, submits required reports and chairs related committees.
26. Advises the Board regarding policies and procedures related to student/staff safety and crisis response procedures.
