What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN/LPN - Senior Care - PRN position at STORY COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER?

As a RN / LPN you will:
- Be responsible for a wide variety of resident care related duties including routine assessments and supervision of patient care performed by CNA’s.
- Document admission of resident, physical assessment, monthly summaries, variance reports, and pertinent resident information.
- Notate and transcribe physician orders, establishing verbal contact with physician for medical emergencies.
- Recognize and provide appropriate nursing intervention in emergency situations.
- Accurately prepares and administers prescribed medications according to hospital procedure.
- Complete appropriate documentation in the patient’s chart and in the care plan.
- Visually assess and provide patient safety, according to identified needs.
- Operate special equipment correctly, after receiving instruction, and returning demonstration.
- Deliver and document patient teaching and verify that the patient or caregiver is receptive and understands the information.
- Follows proper hand hygiene guidelines.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Graduate from an approved school of nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses/Registered Nurses
- Current Iowa nursing license
- BLS certified within 60 days of hire
- Mandatory Reporter completed within 90 days of hire
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States
