Data Management Consultant – Business Intelligence
Location: Charlotte, NC(On-Site)
Duration: 3 Month Contract
Pay: $70/hr W2 ONLY - NO C2C
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Management Consultant / Business Intelligence Developer to support critical data initiatives as a contingent resource. This role requires deep expertise in Microsoft BI tools (Power BI, PowerApps), SQL, data modeling, and data analysis, with a strong understanding of enterprise data governance and strategy. You will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to provide guidance on complex data challenges, influence strategic decisions, and contribute to long-term, large-scale solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert to develop and influence data management strategies across complex business and technical landscapes.
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and PowerApps solutions to support critical reporting and business process needs.
- Use advanced SQL and data modeling techniques to transform and manage large datasets.
- Consult with internal teams including data product, data integrity, and technology partners to define standards, frameworks, and practices for data governance, flow, access, quality, and remediation.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to deliver data-driven business insights and innovative solutions.
- Leverage Alteryx for data transformation and automation, if applicable.
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise data strategy, compliance standards, and long-term business goals.
Required Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in Data Management, Business Intelligence, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management — or equivalent experience through consulting, military service, training, or education.
- Advanced hands-on experience with the Microsoft BI stack, including Power BI and PowerApps.
- Proficient in SQL, data modeling, and complex data analysis.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, macros).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to engage at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Alteryx for ETL and data automation.
- Background working in a large-scale financial services or highly regulated environment.
- Knowledge of data governance practices and compliance standards.
