What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Specialist position at Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc.?
Job Responsibilities
1. Acts as a liaison between the company and various carriers and third-party administrators
2. Reviews vendor invoices, resolving disputes, and reporting on fees and costs
3. Oversees management of benefit programs
4. Evaluates existing benefits programs and proposes changes
5. Performs audits to ensure benefits program accuracy
6. Explains Associate benefits by conducting meetings and responding to requests
7. Provides management planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing Associate benefit data and trends
8. Develops and implements effective benefit and retirement communication strategies for each calendar year
9. Maintains Associate confidence by keeping benefit information confidential
10. Assists with benefits questions from Associates and their families. Facilitates retiree health meetings and new Associate benefits meetings
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Experience with Excel, reporting and data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to identify, gain support and deliver relevant reporting metrics
- Must be self-directed and work independently
- Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills
- Experience and knowledge working in systems
