Buyer

This position is responsible for the purchasing of goods and supplies to support Callan Marine and the accurate storage and inventory of products in the warehouse.
This position will be under the direct supervision of the Senior Buyer.

• Follow up on past due purchase orders.
• Expedite purchases as needed.
• Responsible for processing purchase requisitions and issuing PO’s for primarily direct segments including sourcing, negotiation, working with internal customers and external vendors to reach mutually agreeable and cost-efficient business agreements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to effectively address issues related to price, delivery, and quality of purchased materials.
• Assist with analyzing purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness in description of goods and services, quantity and quality requirements, proper authorization of funding, and proper support documentation.
• Ability to respond to equipment breakdowns, equipment shutdowns for repairs, etc. in innovative ways to provide parts or service personnel to minimize equipment down time.
• Oversees activities of warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, distribution and inventory.
• Code purchase orders to ensure the correct ledger accounts are applied.
• Resolve invoicing discrepancies.
• Maintain inventory of standard parts at Callan warehouse and critical spares and their location.
• Send defective parts out for examination and make repair or replace recommendations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.
