STATEMENT OF THE JOB:
The ARF Skills Coach, under the direct supervision of the ARF Administrator, works alongside a team of caregivers to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our adult clients with mental health diagnosis who reside in one of our residential treatment facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures the safety of assigned residents through direct supervision commensurate with agency supervision guidelines and policies.
- Dispenses and documents the use of medications by residents in accordance with strict agency procedures; monitors each resident’s progress on their medication program; and reports progress in medication compliance.
- Implements treatment plans of residents via treatment interventions provided and approved by the ARF Clinical Administrator.
- Ensures all client documentation including Incident Reports is completed in our electronic health record (EHR) system promptly and accurately.
- Collaborates in planning and supervision of daily activities and outings in accordance with safety directives, treatment goals and in strict adherence to daily structure.
- Ensures that the physical needs of the residents are met by supervising all grooming and hygiene tasks, reporting all potential health and safety problems.
- Ensures residents eat nutritionally balanced meals in accordance with approved menus; assists residents in planning meals, preparing meals, clean-up, and storage.
- Actively participates in maintaining the cleanliness of the residence in accordance with established standards and procedures and promptly reports any repairs or physical issues with the residence.
- Ensures and maintains understanding of approved interventions and treatment support; and communicates all essential client / resident information to appropriate contacts to ensure continuity of care among the team.
- Facilitate daily non-clinical groups as instructed.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned.
JOB EXPECTATIONS:
- Adheres to all policies and procedures including, but not limited to, HIPAA, PHI, Mandated Reporter Status & Procedures, Professional Relationships with Youth & Non-Minor Dependents, and all other Federal and State laws.
- Attends weekly team meetings and scheduled in-service training.
- Completes assigned program operational tasks in accordance with supervisory directives.
- Displays sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
- Practices good judgment and has ability to take initiative.
- Plans time efficiently and accordingly to complete necessary documents and projects.
- Works cooperatively with others in a team-oriented manner.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted California Driver’s License; personal automobile liability insurance; and a driving record acceptable to Summitview’s insurance carrier.
- Must be willing to present a recent negative Tuberculosis test or be willing to take one.
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster doses when eligible are strongly encouraged but not required.
- Must be willing to complete and pass a Department of Justice (DOJ) personal background investigation to meet the requirements of our state licensing agency Community Care Licensing (CCL).

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year or more of prior residential care experience working with mentally ill individuals is preferred.
- Must be 18 years or older.
OTHER:
- Employment is at-will.
- This position is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.
- 24/7 shift coverage required; shift times will vary based upon the needs of the agency.
- Direct care staff position therefore follows Wage Order 5 overtime, meal, and break period rules.
