What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Dispatcher position at Sun Valley Resort?
A Central Dispatcher facilitates communication between Bald Mountain and Dollar Mountain operations for Lift Operations, Lift Maintenance, Guest Services, Tickets, Food & Beverage, Transportation, Parking, and others for summer and/or winter procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain close communication with Patrol Dispatch during opening and closing scenarios, snow safety work, and medical responses. Update MOD and impacted departments and guests
- Monitor weather patterns and forecasts and update MOD as needed
- Facilitate timely operational updates for guest-facing communications, including text messages, website, messages boards, and apps for both Bald Mtn and Dollar Mtn
- Coordinate Mtn Access for vendors and contractors, maintaining the mountain travel policy
- Maintain real-time opening/closing tracking, downtime, Lockout/Tagout log, and other reports and pull data reports when needed
- Manage multiple radio channels and phone lines at one time. Keep communications clear and concise
- Draft various policies and procedures concerning mountain operations and emergency response. Review drafts with Mountain Management
- Implement policies and procedures and hold mountain departments accountable for following these procedures
- High competency using various platforms and apps, excel, word, Smartsheets, Google Docs, and others—design and build reports, logs, and tracking systems based on these formats
- Provide and present data at bi-annual End of Season Review
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Mountain resort/operations experience in radio and/or Emergency Response
- Strong computer-based skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Have Incident Command Systems (ICS) 100, 200, and 300 certifications
