Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is currently searching for a Spray Technician!
The Spray Technician, under the supervision of the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, performs pesticide applications on the golf course and surrounding area. The spray technician is responsible for reading, understanding, and keeping current with pesticide labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). The spray technician must be able to detect and identify disease and pest problems in a timely manner.
All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resorts policies, practices and procedures.
JOB DUTIES:
- Performs all chemical and fertilizer applications to all areas of the property
- Calibrates sprayers and spreaders to ensure accurate application rates
- Stays in compliance with all county, state and federal regulations for mixing chemicals and all safety aspects
- Operates power equipment including mowers, sprayers, spreaders and all other golf course related equipment
- Maintains a detailed inventory of all chemical and fertilizer
- Keeps a clean and safe work environment in the chemical and fertilizer storage facility
Minimum Requirements
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Sunseeker Resorts performs criminal background checks on all candidates. - High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years' Turf grass Science certificate or equivalent
- Minimum of four (4) years' of Golf Course Maintenance experience
- Must obtain a Florida Pesticide License within 90 days of hire

- Must be able to lift heavy objects
- Self-motivated and stays on task
- Ability to follow written and oral assignments
- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines
- Must possess mature personal discretion and sound judgment
- Strong leadership abilities, sound judgment, superior problem solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail
- Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
