Position Summary: The Finish Dozer Operator must be able to operate equipment at the highest level. As a Dozer GPS/Finish Dozer Operator, you will play a vital role in our construction and grading projects. Your primary responsibility will be to operate and maintain finish dozers equipped with GPS technology and to ensure accurate grading and leveling of construction sites.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- To be eligible for consideration, all applicants must possess a valid Driver's License.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in operating GPS Technology Finish Dozers with precision, following project plans and specifications for excavating, fine grading, rough grading and leveling.
- Proven experience as a Dozer GPS/Finish Dozer Operator in the heavy civil construction industry.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining dozers equipped with GPS technology or finish dozers.
- Ability to operate GPS grading systems.
- Must be able to fine grade with all equipment.
- Must have the ability to install all utilities (storm, sanitary, water)
- Must have a high level of understanding of plans and ability to communicate that understanding to other employees.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment. This includes performing routine maintenance including minor servicing, maintenance, and cleaning of the equipment.
- Responsible for alerting the mechanic of any significant problems.
- Check fuel supplies at site to ensure adequate availability.
- Locate underground services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work.
- Monitor operations to ensure the health and safety standards are met.
- Must have the initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist other employees for job completion.
- Must demonstrate driving ability, excellent safety awareness, and a willingness to comply with company policies and safety standards.
- Effective communication with other operators, truck drivers, and the general public is critical.
- Must have the ability to operate and maintain equipment with little or no supervision. Must have reliable transportation and have the ability to travel. Periodic evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime hours are expected.
- Must wear proper attire at all times including safety vests, safety glasses when appropriate, long pants, hard sole/close-toed shoes, and reflect a clean and presentable image.
- Continuous mental and visual attention is necessary to safely and effectively complete work tasks.
- Project a positive and cooperative attitude by maintaining courteous and professional conduct with Supervisors, co-workers, customers, and the general public.
- Must be able to provide proper documentation that you have the legal right to work in the United States.
