FINISH GRADER OPERATOR

Position Summary: The Finish Grader Operator must be able to operate equipment at the highest level. As a Finish Grader Operator, you will play a vital role in our construction and grading projects. Your primary responsibility will be to operate and maintain the finish grader and to ensure accurate grading and leveling of construction sites.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • To be eligible for consideration, all applicants must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in operating finish grader with precision, following project plans and specifications for, fine grading, rough grading and leveling.
  • Proven experience as a Finish Grader Operator in the heavy civil construction industry.
  • Must be able to fine grade with all equipment.
  • Must have a high level of understanding of plans and the ability to communicate that understanding to other employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment. This includes performing routine maintenance including minor servicing, maintenance, and cleaning of the equipment.
  • Responsible for alerting the mechanic of any significant problems.
  • Check fuel supplies at site to ensure adequate availability.
  • Locate underground services, such as pipes or wires, before beginning work.
  • Monitor operations to ensure the health and safety standards are met.
  • Must have the initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist other employees for job completion.
  • Must demonstrate driving ability, excellent safety awareness, and a willingness to comply with company policies and safety standards.
  • Effective communication with other operators, truck drivers, and the general public is critical.
  • Must be able to operate and maintain equipment with little or no supervision. Must have reliable transportation and can travel. Periodic evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime hours are expected.
  • Must wear proper attire always, including safety vests, safety glasses when appropriate, long pants, hard sole/close-toed shoes, and reflect a clean and presentable image.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention is necessary to complete work tasks safely and effectively.
  • Project a positive and cooperative attitude by maintaining courteous and professional conduct with Supervisors, co-workers, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be able to provide proper documentation that you have the legal right to work in the United States.
