Our client, a leader in the construction industry, is seeking a Regional Safety Manager to join their team in Richmond, VA. This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about workplace safety and compliance. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest safety standards while collaborating with field personnel and management teams to ensure OSHA compliance and foster a safe working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Provide technical expertise to managers and supervisors for eliminating or controlling unsafe behaviors, environments, and hazards.
- Plan and conduct periodic and unscheduled surveys and inspections of construction projects.
- Conduct hazard analyses of project operations and develop risk assessments.
- Assist in updating and maintaining the company safety manual.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs, ensuring safety awareness across all levels of the organization.
- Assist in accident record-keeping and provide technical support for investigating accidents, incidents, injuries, and illnesses.
- Foster a collaborative environment while advising on corrections and safety improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Must-Have Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or BCSP credential (CHST, STS-C, etc).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience overseeing data center electrical construction projects or similar work.
- OSHA 30-hour certification within the past 3 years.
- Understanding of Workers’ Compensation processes.
- Strong technical writing skills and ability to train groups of 25-30 individuals.
- Ability to adapt to a changing work environment and act independently with minimal supervision.
- High energy, self-motivated, and able to collaborate effectively with all levels of the company.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Certified OSHA Outreach Trainer for the Construction Industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
- Experience with advanced risk assessment tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of innovative safety practices and emerging industry technologies.
- Previous experience in a hybrid working environment.
