What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Nurse Midwife position at Tampa Family Health Centers?
Position Summary: In accordance with the Tampa Family Health Center policies and procedures, the Certified Nurse Midwife oversees the OB department. The position will work collaboratively with members of the nursing, medical staff, and other outside partners.
Essential Functions:
Provides clinical oversight and support as needed to nursing staff and medical assistants in
collaboration with the OB providers and Practice Manager.
Responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of OB program goals.
Engage with community partners.
Collaborates with leadership in setting quality standards for nursing care,
and in the development of relevant policies and procedures.
Develop and deliver educational information for prenatal and post-partum patients.
Review OB Due Date report and cross-reference with the hospital’s TFHC patient census and received reports.
Maintain proper tracking and reporting of OB patients.
Complete, analyze and submit monthly reports.
General Duties:
Coordinates and expedites clinical operations within the OB department.
Works closely with OB providers and support staff.
Utilizes a critical thinking approach to problem solve and make decisions.
Identifies and evaluates operational clinical needs and resolves concerns
Ensures availability of supplies and educational materials
Responsible for ensuring that all clinical protocols are followed.
Communicate with patients and staff in a pleasant and courteous manner.
Possess interpersonal skills to interact effectively across roles, teams and departments.
Must exercise a high degree of professional judgment within the scope of licensure.
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Experience:
Current RN State of Florida license
Minimum 2-3 years of relevant clinical experience in Women’s reproductive health and childbirth as a clinical nurse or nurse leader required.
Bilingual a plus.
Demonstrates technological literacy in using computerized information systems.
Proficient in basic computer skills such as Microsoft office products and data entry.
