Position Summary:
Works in accordance with the plans and policies established by the Board of Directors within the health care setting, which includes mental health and as a member of the Service Team, providing direct therapy services to clients of the Center. This employee will function independently and autonomously.
Essential Functions:
Provide cognitive and behavioral interventions to individuals (adult and pediatric patients) with a behavioral health problem
Provide classes in a format appropriate for a primary care setting (i.e. stress management, sleep enhancement and chronic pain)
Consult with primary care physicians (PCP) regarding patient care, as requested
Timely follow-up on all PCP referrals via same-day verbal and/or written communication; timely documentation in the patients’ medical record
Deliver brief presentations/trainings to primary care team members regarding behavioral health related issues and BHC services provided
Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of clinical pathway programs
Consult with legal authorities, as directed
General Duties:
Support the Mission, Vision and Values of TFHC
Effectively manage a full daily patient schedule as defined by the BHC manual
May include supervision of peer providers who are in training or not yet fully licensed
Attend and participate in meetings, committees, and conferences, as directed
Knowledge and Experience:
Experience with Autism testing to include ADI and ADOS required
Ability to navigate and enter data into an electronic health record
Ability to work independently, adhering to all TFHC, HIPAA, accreditation, Federal and State rules and regulations
Ability to work with persons from a wide diversity of social, ethnic and economic backgrounds
(2) years’ experience providing mental health services in a community-based setting preferred
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Skillful and tactful in working with patients who may be physically and/or mentally ill, uncooperative, fearful, and emotionally distraught
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with primary care team members, patients and other Behavioral Health professionals
Education, Certification Training and License:
Doctoral Degree in Psychology, with a minimum of (2) years’ experience as a therapist
Current BLS Certification
Current and unencumbered license to practice in the State of Florida
