Job Summary
Job Summary: Job incumbent functions as part of a clinical team in a culturally sensitive residential treatment facility in the provision of rehabilitation to clients who are experiencing emotional, mental or behavioral health needs. Job Incumbent is responsible for sight, sound, safety and supervision of youth in milieu setting and ratio is kept as required for Alaska Child Care Licensing Regulations. Job Incumbent will adhere to all program policies, protocol and licensing requirements for clinical documentation, outings, etc. Job Incumbent facilitates non-clinical activities including educational, cultural, recreational, or social activities. Assists youth diagnosed with co-occurring disorders with activities of daily living, individual and group skills development, crisis counseling and other supportive services.

Essential Functions

Representative Duties: Under direct supervision of the Lead Residential Care Coordinator, job incumbent will be assigned from the following representative duties:
1. Operates in accordance with Behavioral Health vision, guiding principles, service philosophy and service model and established policies and procedures.
2. Provide shift coverage at Graf as assigned which includes swing or night shift and some weekends or holidays. Assures that all residents adhere to facility policy and procedures. Maintains strict licensing guidelines for sight, sound, safety and supervision of youth and ensures ratio requirements are met.
3. Provide high quality individual and group community recovery skills development and case management to clients with behavioral health, social skills, recreations, recreational, self-maintenance and activities of daily living. Facilitate and schedule individual and group comprehensive community support services for clients.
4. Complete Administrative and Clinical Documentation in a timely manner in order to maintain program compliance within the guidelines established by Tanana Chiefs Conference, Indian Health Services, the State, Medicaid and other regulatory agencies.
5. Closely monitor client behavior and document in chart or daily log. Report observations and problems to the appropriate Clinical Associate and Supervisor in emergency situations.
6. Monitor client usage of medicines in appropriate logs and ensures that clients take medicines according to prescription.
7. Perform housekeeping chores in staff office, bathroom, kitchen and common areas after each shift. Complete laundry as needed. Maintain inventory of supplies as needed.
8. Ensures maintenance of safety and sanitary conditions in client apartments; teach or assists, if necessary, with housekeeping chores in client living areas.
9. Report needed repairs and maintenance to supervisor.
10. Perform other job related duties as assigned.

2. One year training or education in counseling, behavioral health and or social services. Prefer one year of experience in behavioral health or working with youth.
3. One year work experience in assisted living facility. Current Alaska Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Aide license preferred.
4. Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
5. Must pass background check pursuant to the State of Alaska background check and federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.

1. Strong computer skills; i.e. electronic records, publisher, excel, word-processing software programs and e-mail.
2. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to problem solve dilemmas and crisis situations.

4. Knowledge and ability to adhere to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality regulations.

Supervision
Physical demands: Job incumbent needs dexterity for walking up/down stairs and housekeeping duties. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds in supplies. Must be able to climb stairs as program is a 2-story building with elevator, must be able to stoop, kneel and crawl to perform housekeeping chores.
Summation
Summation: Job incumbent must be available to work outside of traditional work hours due to 24 hours supervised housing program (hours worked may be day, evening, nights and weekends) must be able to work on short notice and in a sometimes stressful environment. Incumbent has daily contact with clients experiencing behavioral health problems—need to be able to problem solve dilemmas and crisis and communicate effectively.
