Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations:
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for plant employees, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Promote positive employee relations by maintaining an open-door policy and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints, disciplinary actions, and grievances, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.
- Support plant managers in the implementation of performance management processes, including coaching, feedback, and performance improvement plans.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training programs tailored to the needs of plant employees, focusing on skill enhancement and productivity improvement.
- Partner with plant leadership to identify and address performance challenges, ensuring alignment with company standards and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations as they pertain to the manufacturing environment.
- Maintain and enforce HR policies and procedures within the plant, regularly reviewing and updating them to reflect changes in legislation or company practices.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure HR practices are compliant with legal requirements and company standards.
- Collaborate with the safety team to support and enforce health and safety policies, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to the development of safety programs and initiatives.
- Assist in managing workers’ compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work programs.
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation for plant employees, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Prepare and present regular HR reports to plant management, including metrics on employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in both Spanish and English is preferred for this position.
HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
- Dunnville, KY onsite at manufacturing facilities
- Position would require occasional travel to other Tarter sites as needed.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work.
