BASIC FUNCTION:
The Technical Service Representative will provide exceptional phone support to Taylor distributors, customers, and colleagues for all Taylor equipment, including freezers, grills, and RAM. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, effective communication skills, and a solid foundation in electronics and standard test instruments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical phone support for all Taylor equipment (freezers, grills, and RAM) to distributors, customers, and colleagues.
- Exhibit proper phone etiquette, effective listening skills, and clear and accurate communication both verbally and in writing.
- Interpret service manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to support troubleshooting of electrical and refrigeration systems.
- Utilize basic knowledge of electronics and proficiency with standard test instruments and hand tools.
- Collaborate effectively with others in antagonistic situations, employing appropriate methods to reduce tension or conflict while achieving resolution.
- Apply knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field service arena.
- Utilize software applications and equipment, particularly Windows operating systems, to perform job functions.
- Identify recurring service issues, capture details accurately, and communicate internally to support the identification of root causes and implementation of corrective actions.
- Participate in limited travel, such as ride-alongs, to gain field experience and enhance support capabilities.
Requirements
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Experience in troubleshooting electrical and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to identify and communicate recurring service issues for continuous improvement.
- Prior experience in the field service industry or with Taylor equipment is highly desirable.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical documents.
- Basic knowledge of electronics and experience using standard test instruments and hand tools.
- Proficiency in using Windows operating systems and related software applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail.
- Preferred: Technical expertise or experience in both operational and functional aspects of Taylor or foodservice equipment.
