Responsibilities
Program Specific Assistance (AGED)
- Coordinate Agricultural Sciences (AGED) student admissions into the teacher education certification program within the Aggie Educators portal.
- Upon admission to the teacher certification program, monitor and report AGED student minimum GPA on a semester-by-semester basis to maintain eligibility within the teacher certification program.
- Assist program leaders with AGED student teacher placement, manage communications between AGED program leaders and local education agencies, and communicate placement and site approval within the Aggie Educators portal.
- Assist AGED students with teacher credentialing through the State Board for Educator Certification.
- Assist program leaders with annual program assessment for SACS-COC compliance and Texas Education Agency accreditation.
- Assist AGED Faculty in summer programs such as the Ag Academy and summer instructional programs.
Academic Program Support
- Coordinate course scheduling.
- Manage program assessment.
- Complete purchase orders for faculty (textbooks, course materials, publishing fees, etc.).
- Process undergraduate variable credit forms.
- Onboarding undergraduate teaching assistants.
- Support undergraduate research programs.
- Provide Curriculum Committee support.
Academic Support
- Schedule hotels for interns at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Academic Guest Reservations
- Room/parking reservations for faculty and academic guest speakers.
- Facilitate business permit assignments.
- Purchase academic guest parking permits.
General Office Maintenance
- Organize/maintain supply closets.
- Work with Dept. Administrator to organize faculty transfers/moves.
- Assist with overseeing student worker(s).
- Arrange/host safety and technology trainings.
- Monthly maintenance of AED/first aid kit.
Other duties as reuired.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of experience in related areas.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
