Position: Performance Arts Teacher with Emphasis on Music

Essential Job Functions:
- Design and deliver engaging music-based lessons for students at elementary and middle level
- Teach music theory, vocal technique, instrumental instruction, composition, and performance skills
- Lead choirs, bands, or musical ensembles as applicable
- Incorporate elements of performing arts (e.g., drama, movement) to enrich the musical curriculum
- Plan and direct school concerts, recitals, and musical theater productions
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages artistic expression and collaboration
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback and individualized support
- Collaborate with other teachers and departments on interdisciplinary projects and events
- Maintain and manage musical instruments, equipment, and classroom materials
- Stay current with best practices in music and performing arts education
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Performing Arts, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Valid teaching certification/licensure (as required by state or region)
- Demonstrated experience teaching music and/or leading student performances
- Proficiency in one or more instruments and/or vocal training
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to engage students with diverse musical interests and backgrounds
- Experience directing performances or school musicals is a strong plus
