Essential Job Functions:

• Design and deliver engaging music-based lessons for students at elementary and middle level
• Teach music theory, vocal technique, instrumental instruction, composition, and performance skills
• Lead choirs, bands, or musical ensembles as applicable
• Incorporate elements of performing arts (e.g., drama, movement) to enrich the musical curriculum
• Plan and direct school concerts, recitals, and musical theater productions
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages artistic expression and collaboration
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback and individualized support
• Collaborate with other teachers and departments on interdisciplinary projects and events
• Maintain and manage musical instruments, equipment, and classroom materials
• Stay current with best practices in music and performing arts education

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Performing Arts, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Valid teaching certification/licensure (as required by state or region)
• Demonstrated experience teaching music and/or leading student performances
• Proficiency in one or more instruments and/or vocal training
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to engage students with diverse musical interests and backgrounds
• Experience directing performances or school musicals is a strong plus
