Description: Travel RN – Emergency Department (ER)Overview

Join a high-performing Emergency Department staffed for critical care, behavioral health, and trauma interventions. Candidates must demonstrate agility, advanced clinical skills, and strong interpersonal capabilities in a fast-paced setting.

Unit Details

• Bed Configuration:
• 4 beds – secure psychiatric Annex
• 25 procedure rooms
• 8 hallway beds (used 24/7)
• Total Staff: ~88 (combined job titles)
• Staffing Model:
• 7a–3a: 1 Charge RN, 7 RNs, 3 ED Techs, 2 RPs
• Annex: 1 RN, 1 ED Tech
• 3a–7a: 1 Charge RN, 6 RNs, 2 ED Techs, 1 RP
• Annex: 1 RN, 1 ED Tech
• Patient Ratio: 4:1 (may adjust during surge events)

Patient Population

Includes High-acuity Cases Such As

• Multiple comorbidities
• Cardiac patients (NEHI)
• DKA, Sepsis, Trauma, Stroke

• Ultrasound IV insertion
• Lucas Device
• Hotline Rapid Infuser
• Alaris pumps
• Pyxis
• EMR: Sunrise / Allscripts
  
  

Required Qualifications

Contract RN Candidates Must Have

• Minimum 2 years of ED experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications
• Adaptability and dependability
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking
• Excellent understanding of medical terminology
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

HCA Hired Candidates

• At least 1 year of ED experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, MOAB
• Proficiency in EKG interpretation
  
  

Common Procedures

• Trauma stabilization
• Stroke interventions
• Laceration repair
• Orthopedic trauma
• U/S and IO insertion
• Eye exams
• EKGs
• Psychiatric and cardiopulmonary care

• No hooded shirts or sweatshirts (safety compliance)

Weekend & On-Call

• Contract RN: Every other weekend
• HCA Hires (RNs, Techs, Medics): Every third weekend
• Coordinators: Every other weekend
  
  

Protocol Highlights

• RN-driven care under written protocols based on chief complaint
• Authority to order labs, EKGs, X-rays, and meds (protocol-driven)
