We are seeking a Banquet Catering Server to join our team!
The primary Banquet Catering Server function is serving food and drinks at special events while interacting with guests in a positive, friendly and efficient manner.
The ideal candidate for a Banquet Catering Server position at Merion is someone who has an energetic personality, a hard work ethic, self-motivated, and a passion for offering excellent service. The Club offers an educational work environment for someone who is interested in learning about the hospitality industry. We like to promote from within and there is opportunity for advancement. Part-time and Full-time positions are available.
Banquet/Catering Server Duties and Responsibilities:
- Event set up and breakdown including arranging tables and chairs and setting tables
- Carrying plates of food on trays and serving guests
- Refilling guests’ beverage glasses; removing finished plates and utensils between meal courses
- Serving cocktails, wine, and beer
- Occasionally presenting and pouring wine at private dinners, tasting, and Club Special Events
- Maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness
Banquet and Catering Server Job Requirements
- Energetic personality and strong work ethic
- Polite manners and excellent communication skills
- A passion for food and fine dining
- Adherence to professional appearance standards & club policies
- Ability to lift 25-50 lbs
- Constantly standing, walking, and reaching during shift; possibly extended distances; ability to bend and climb stairs when necessary
- Available and flexible to work nights, holidays, and weekends
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous waitress, waiter or banquet server experience
- Excellent oral communication and listening skills
- Ability to follow directions
- Excellent customer service skills
