Project Manager
The division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine is seeking a Project Manager. This position is essential to the success of a growing multicenter comparative-effectiveness research network known as the PRECEDENT Network (https://www.precedentnetwork.com/). The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate and bring together investigators and research staff from over 50 institutions across the United States to perform cutting-edge Infectious Diseases clinical research. Experience in program management is preferred, with expertise in regulatory affairs, database management, and multitasking required.
Key job duties of this position include:
- Coordinating site-level research operations across research sites, including IRB approvals, subcontracts, database management, and other documentation
- Scheduling meetings and engagements with site investigators and central investigative team at Pitt
- Coordinating with Pitt research staff in IRB office, ID Division, and Clinical Trials office
- Overall all aspects of the design, implementation and execution of real-world research studies in Infectious Diseases
- Tracking projects, timelines, and goals with senior investigators
- Coordinating with central laboratory for the shipment of biospecimens
- Overseeing study budgets, timelines, and deliverables
Job Summary
Oversees all aspects of planning, design, and execution of multiple, small routine projects or a moderately complex project. Assists in developing timelines and ensures adherence to deadlines. Manages financial aspects of projects and other administrative duties. Handles external correspondence and drafts reports and other communications.
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
