Job Description
Tolunay-Wong Engineers, Inc. (TWE) is seeking applicants for a Deep Foundations Testing Technician in the Houston Field Services Division, based out of Houston and Beaumont, Texas. This position encompasses a wide range of testing, monitoring, and inspection of various deep foundations. All necessary training for the position is provided; experienced and inexperienced candidates are welcome to apply. Please note this is a labor intensive job. Candidates must be physically able to perform tasks such as loading and unloading test equipment from vehicle, lifting and working with objects at grade, or working from heights (manlift). The position requires frequent travel as our department provides Deep Foundations Testing Services for the entire Gulf Coast region and nationally.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with field personnel and perform or assist with deep foundation testing. Deep Foundations Testing services include the following:
- Installation Monitoring and Pile Instrumentation
- Vibration Monitoring
- High-Strain Dynamic Pile Load Testing (PDA)
- Static Pile Load Testing (SLT)
- Low-Strain Pile Integrity Testing (PIT)
- Sonic Logging (SSL/CSL)
- Thermal Integrity Profiling (TIP)
- Physically complete projects assigned by the Project Coordinator/Project Manager.
- Complete all required paperwork, including daily reports, safety paperwork, and vehicle & equipment inspections.
- Attend all safety meetings and comply with both TWE and client safety standards and programs.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment, including equipment and job site areas.
- Turn in all required paperwork to office on a daily basis.
- Tabulate recorded information using Microsoft Excel.
REQUIREMENTS
- Able to read and write in English.
- Able to pass a background check.
- Willing to travel and possess a dependable half ton pick up truck or equivalent.
- Able to pass an initial, random, and annual hair follicle drug test.
- Hold a Texas Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
- Able to physically implement work duties assigned in various weather elements.
- Willing to work diligently and take ownership over work whether project is small or large.
- Able to facilitate positive, professional customer relations.
- Willing to learn, ask questions, and offer new ideas and suggestions.
