Responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint, enamel, varnishes and other finishes using brushes, rollers and sprayers. Expertise required in mixing and matching pigment, oil, base and thinner in the right proportion to attain the desired outcome. A significant portion of this role is to learn the trade from more experienced coworkers.- Able to clean grease, dirt, rust, old paint from equipment using solvent, water, rags, brushes, pneumatic wire brush and chipping hammer.
- Knowledgeable in the use of painting/blasting tools not limited to paint guns, sanding tools and material blasters, grinding tools, etc.
- Mix and apply uniform paint coatings according to customer and industry specifications.
- Prepares equipment for painting and blasting restoration, tapes and mask equipment, mixes paint and color matches.
- Inspects finished product for overall quality and follow established safety procedures.
- Ability to work around chemicals and fumes common to paint and body repair.
- Lift up to 50 pounds as needed and perform tasks that require climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms.
- Able to pass drug screen and physical.
