Summary: Perform tasks required to meet the grounds and rest area maintenance per contract schedule in accordance with Tresco.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 3 years’ experience in grounds maintenance, irrigation systems, and tractor and mowing equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A: Job Specific:
- Perform grounds maintenance duties per contract schedule, requirements, and standards; assist repair technicians with repairs at the rest areas to include:
- Repair and/or replace Rain Bird valves, sprinkler systems and timers, dig ditches and repair and/or replace pipe, fittings, and wiring.
- Moving, using tractor and hand movers. Mowing medians, roadway, shoulders, mow all improved grounds to look well-manicured, trim areas not accessible to mowers, maintain desert landscape in a clean and neat manner. Provide weed control, maintain septic tank, and leach lines areas, shelter grounds area. Service tractor greasing and lubing, checking, and maintaining oil and/or fluid levels.
- Cable fence repair and replacement alignment of digging post holes. Repair and replacement of post wire, staples, nails, and tie wire.
- Meet with NM DOT personnel when necessary.
- Assure that assigned vehicle and equipment is serviced and maintained on a regular basis.
- Notify DOT Assistant Project Manager of any maintenance and/or repair problems.
- Accept and accomplish special assignments from supervisor.
- Assist public when necessary.

- Must always carry work phone while on duty; respond to phone calls, text messages, and emails in a timely manner.
- This position may require the employee to operate either a company owned or personal vehicle on behalf of the company; the company owned vehicle should always remain clean.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.
