Job Description:
The Clinical Supervisor is to provide substance use disorder treatment services as well as on-site clinical supervision, training, and consultation to counseling staff in order to assure that all treatment services are coordinated, delivered and documented. When applicable, clinical supervisor will supervise administration support staff.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants will:
- High School degree or GED required with college level courses
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- Must have a professional license and registration number from the State Department of Health
- Have at least 4000 hours experience in state approved SUD treatment agency. (4000 hours in addition to the supervised experience hours required to become an SUDP).
- Have at least 3000 hours as described above and 28 clock hours of recognized supervisor training.

Clinical Supervisor Job Duties:
- Provide supervision to agency clinical staff; evaluate performance, offer feedback, establish professional development plans and ensure these actions are properly documented.
- Plan and facilitate regularly scheduled clinical supervision meetings.
- Ensure completion of required documentation and adherence with regulations/standards by performing audits and reviews.
- Be knowledgeable about ASAM criteria and co-occurring disorders to coordinate care between substance use and mental health disorder clinicians, supporting the development of integrated behavioral health services.
- Supervises quality control functions to ensure accurate, timely completion of all patient care services, documentation, and communication for internal and external services.
- Attend group therapy sessions periodically to provide feedback to clinicians and assess effectiveness of curricula and program materials.
- Personnel actions to be included in supervisor responsibilities are: recruitment and hiring, on-boarding and training, progressive discipline and professional development plans, scheduling and timecard management.
- Conduct timely performance appraisals as scheduled.
- Participate in the 24-hour emergency on-call program for clinical services.
- When required/needed, provide direct patient care including; assessments, admissions, intakes, groups, 1x1s, and education classes.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, agency polies and licensing regulations.
- Provide evidence of client satisfaction and clinical outcome measurements for services provided.
- Stay informed on advancements in the field and participate in the quality assurance of program materials and processes, make recommendations for improvements and ensure the integrity of P&P.
- Organize, supervise, and analyze all administrative functions such as budgeting, accounting, data collection, record maintenance, etc.
- Address community groups to increase awareness of program objectives and successes.
- Participate in agency events such as fundraisers, community outreach, staff parties and trainings.
- Act as a primary hearing officer for all grievances filed by our patients and address concerns communicated by referents and patient family members.
Certificates:
- Must have Clinical Supervisor training hours completed.
- Must possess the SUDP credential as required by WAC.
- Must have a current and valid SUDP license and registration number from the State Department of Health.
