We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Insurance Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital or physician billing and denial management. This role involves handling insurance claims, processing payments, and resolving billing issues to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.

Position Summary:
The Insurance Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely submission of insurance claims, processing payments, and resolving billing issues to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.

RESPONSIBLITIES
- Manage and process insurance claims. Communicate with insurance companies to follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims.
- Manages correspondence relating to assigned accounts in a timely manner.
- Post various types of incoming payments via 838, cash, check or credit card.
- Review and resolve billing denials and discrepancies.
- Stay updated on insurance regulations and billing practices.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits. Assist with authorizations as required.
- Provides positive and efficient customer service to all parties, follows-up on requests promptly. Works collaboratively with admissions department.
- Monitors trends, identifies areas of opportunity to increase revenue and system efficiencies.
- Generate and send monthly billing statements to clients. Secures acceptable payment arrangements and refers accounts to collection if required. Manages financial assistance program.
- Performs other related work and support activities as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in a hospital or physician billing environment.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration:
Valid drivers license and vehicle insurance required. 5 years of licensed driving experience required.
