Job Summary
A global leader in maritime, marine, and industrial safety solutions is seeking a dynamic and personable Sales Executive / Account Manager to manage and grow a regional territory based out of Norfolk, VA. This hybrid role is ideal for a results-driven professional with experience in outside sales and a strong understanding of marine, offshore, port, shipyard, coastal, harbor, and industrial markets.
You would be managing the Regions Sales of such products such as Marine evacuation systems, PPE such as Lifejackets, Firefighting & Safety Gear, and more Safety accessories.
The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of accounts, expand regional market presence, and build long-term relationships with customers operating in commercial marine, waterborne, vessel-based, offshore, and heavy industrial environments. This role requires a proactive, people-oriented individual who enjoys face-to-face client engagement, territory development, and thrives in a collaborative, flexible work setting that blends remote work with occasional in-office meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sales operations and customer relationships within the assigned territory, with a focus on the Norfolk, VA coastal and port region.
- Maintain and grow an assigned account portfolio by providing consultative sales support and safety-focused product solutions.
- Promote and sell the company’s full range of maritime, marine, nautical, seagoing, offshore, and industrial safety solutions.
- Call on and support customers including commercial marine operators, vessel-based customers, shipyards, port and harbor authorities, offshore service providers, defense/naval partners (if applicable), and industrial facilities.
- Achieve assigned sales targets and revenue goals while maintaining accurate CRM activity, pipeline reporting, and KPI metrics.
- Collaborate with internal teams, distributors, and service partners to align sales strategies and ensure excellence in product delivery and customer support.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop local distributor, service station, port, and offshore partnerships.
- Represent the company at client meetings, trade shows, and regional maritime, marine, offshore, port operations, and industrial industry events.
- Support inventory planning and budget alignment in partnership with the Sales Director.
- Provide regular feedback on market conditions, customer needs, and trends across marine, offshore, coastal, and industrial sectors.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in outside sales, field sales, or territory account management.
- Experience in Sales within the maritime, marine, offshore, port operations, shipyard, coastal, harbor, defense/naval, or industrial Safety Solutions
- Proven track record of developing long-term client relationships and meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; outgoing, professional, and customer-focused.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment: primarily remote with in-person office use for meetings and collaboration.
- Proficient with CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and territory management platforms.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the regional territory as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $70,000 – $80,000
- Bonus Potential: Up to $20,000 annually
- Vehicle Reimbursement: $500/month
