Position Overview:
The Volleyball Official oversees the implementation of THPRD league rules to uphold standards of good sportsmanship. We seek individuals who can meet the needs of participants and foster a safe, supportive environment.
THPRD is seeking:
- Community-minded and safety-conscious individuals who are dedicated to sports and leadership, with strong communication skills across diverse groups.
- Volleyball Officials capable of informing and enforcing sports rules, managing playtimes, scheduling revisions, and conducting pre-game captain’s meetings.
- Candidates able to manage groups effectively both indoors (fall, winter, spring) and outdoors (summer) while performing their duties.
Additional information about this role:
- This job is primarily performed indoors in the fall, winter, and spring and outdoors in the summer, including excessive temperatures and inclement weather.
- Requires standing and walking for long periods of time and officiating sets/matches.
- The individual in this role is typically exposed to noises and interruptions, such as bouncing balls, sudden loud noises, multiple voices, and yelling in a crowded environment.
- Physical exertion may include lifting sporting equipment items weighing less than 40 pounds.

Scheduling:
Typical Shifts
- Adult Leagues: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
- Youth Leagues: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., and three (3) Saturday tournaments
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must successfully complete district safety training before beginning duties.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications required or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Two years of experience in the specialty area.

Classification Status:
PART-TIME VARIABLE (ONGOING)
THPRD is hiring for ongoing part-time variable positions; hours may vary and are based on programming needs. Part-time variable (PT) employees work an average of less than 20 hours per week and may work less than 1,560 hours on an annual basis.
