Job Responsibilities:

1. Provides direct day-to-day care of patients and families in Medical Surgical, ICU, and Emergency Departments.
2. Practices to the fullest extent of his/her license in accordance with organizational policies.
3. Functions as a member of the Patient Care Team to implement the patient's plan of care.
4. Provides population specific care and meets the developmental needs of the populations served.
5. The float nurse provides specialized care consistent with the policies, procedures, and standards of care and designated competencies.
6. Promotes and maintains quality patient care and assists in teaching nursing staff.

Requirements:

• A graduate of a school of nursing with a current registered nurse license recognized by the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
• A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in critical care, ED, PACU, or similar.
• Current RN license required.
• ACLS, PALS, NIH Education, and Handle with Care are required within 12 months.
