Job Summary
The Graduate Nurse will provide direct day-to-day care of patients and families in Medical Surgical, ICU, and Emergency Departments. Under the direction of the Nurse Director, the Graduate Nurse will function as a member of the Patient Care Team to implement the patient's plan of care.
- Provide population-specific care and meet the developmental needs of the populations served.
- Practice to the fullest extent of his/her license in accordance with organizational policies.
Responsibilities
- Provides specialized care consistent with the policies, procedures, and standards of care and designated competencies.
- Promotes and maintains quality patient care and assists in teaching nursing staff.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of a school of nursing and hold current registered nurse license recognized by the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience is required in critical care, ED, PACU, or similar.
- Current RN license required.
- ACLS, PALS, NIH Education, and Handle with Care are required within 12 months.
