Job Title: General Laborer/Firewatch
Location: Clarksville, TN (In-person)
Pay: $11–13.00 per hour
Schedule: 7AM - 4PM (Monday - Friday)
We are currently hiring reliable and dedicated individuals for the role of General Labor and Firewatcher at a construction site. This position pays $11–13.00 per hour and follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Responsibilities:
We are currently hiring Fire Watch personnel responsible for monitoring hot work activities—including welding, cutting, and grinding—to ensure adherence to safety protocols and prevent potential fire hazards.
Monitor hot work activities and ensure safety compliance at all times
Remain alert and on-site at all times during hot work operations
Immediately shut down welding equipment and direct personnel to evacuate during fire, gas leaks, or emergency incidents
Maintain constant communication with welders and other hot work operators
Know the location and operation of emergency fire extinguishers and safety equipment
Identify and eliminate fire hazards (e.g., flammable materials in the work area)
Keep the area clear of combustible materials and ensure proper ventilation
Never leave the job site unattended unless properly relieved
Report any safety hazards or unsafe behaviors to supervisors immediately
May be required to operate or provide hand tools such as floats, hammers, trowels, etc.
Maintain a clean and organized job site
Qualifications:
Previous experience in construction or industrial job sites preferred
Must not pose a safety risk to self or others
Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background check
Able to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, climb ladders/scaffolds, and lift 30–50 lbs
Good vision and hearing (corrected or uncorrected)
Able to follow written and verbal instructions
Must have the capability to work effectively in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces, elevated areas, and uneven terrain
Must be able to recognize and report hazards accurately
Able to use PPE and safety equipment: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness/lanyard, etc.
Safety Requirements:
Clean-shaven (if respirator required)
Long sleeves and steel-toe boots are required
OSHA-approved safety glasses (Z87)
Completion of hazard communication training or test
Site-specific safety orientation may be required
