Litigation Paralegal - Insurance Defense Preferred
Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000
Location: Portland, Oregon
Job Type: Full-time
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience required
- Insurance defense experience strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Tech-savvy with the ability to learn and adapt to new legal technologies and systems
- Professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strict adherence to maintaining client confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage litigation cases through all phases of the legal process
- Conduct factual and witness investigations, including background checks
- Assist in drafting and responding to discovery, including managing document production
- Review and summarize medical records, bills, police reports, and deposition transcripts
- Analyze large case files and prepare chronologies of key events and correspondence
- Support attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
- Assist with trial preparation
- Collaborate and communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, and staff
- Efficiently learn and use firm technologies and software systems
