Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract in Arcata, CA. This role is ideal for a clinically skilled RN with a strong background in wound care management, assessment, and treatment within an acute or long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound care treatment plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments, including staging, measuring, and documentation.
- Administer appropriate wound care treatments, including dressings, debridement, and negative pressure therapy.
- Educate patients, families, and staff on proper wound care techniques and prevention strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient health records.
- Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Requirements:
- Active California RN license.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in wound care.
- Wound care certification preferred (e.g., WOCN, WCC).
- BLS certification (AHA).
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
