Dr. Nichol Castro in the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate with a research specialty in adult neurogenic language disorders and/or language science.
Dr. Castro’s Adult Language Network Lab researches word retrieval in typically aging adults and adults with neurogenic language disorders. Our interdisciplinary lab is currently focused on anomia treatment development and implementation informed by cognitive and linguistic sciences. Our lab is currently funded, in part, by the ASHFoundation and is actively applying for federal NIH grants.
Key responsibilities include:

Key responsibilities include:
- Recruit and assess persons with aphasia for our Aphasia Registry and Repository (in person and online), including scoring and uploading of data into RedCap.
- Engage in research on anomia treatment for persons with aphasia, including experiment design and dissemination of research.
- Other duties may include, including supervision of students, grant preparation, literature reviews, and programming.

Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related fields including Psychology and Linguistics, conferred within the last 5 years.Must have excellent written and verbal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in adult neurogenic language disorders, particularly aphasia.
Previous experience in community-engaged research.
