Position Information
UC Riverside's Center for Early Childhood Education is recruiting for a part-time Classroom Assistant (20 hours per week). Under the general supervision of the Center for Early Childhood Education (CECE) Executive Director, Site Supervisor, and the close supervision of the classroom Lead Teacher, the Classroom Assistant will provide assistance to ensure the smooth function of daily routines, implementation of the early care and education programs, and ensure compliance with mandated adult:child ratios. Works as part of the Early Childhood Services teaching team.
The full salary range for the Classroom Assistant is $20.38 - $23.34 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is ten weeks after their first date of employment.

Knowledge of current philosophies and research in early care and education, Pre-K Guidelines, and Early Literacy.
Physical ability to lift and carry children up to 30 pounds, frequently and as necessary.
Skill to communicate effectively with children, staff and parents.
Skill to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Skills to take direction in meeting children's needs, classroom needs and parent needs.
