Position Information
This role focuses on providing comprehensive career and academic coaching to support professional students throughout their current academic journey and in developing robust post-education plans. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with a deep understanding of the professional field, capable of effectively applying theoretical knowledge to practical situations. This individual will independently manage the full spectrum of coaching responsibilities, leveraging broad job knowledge to analyze diverse problems and formulate effective solutions for student success. The full salary range for the Graduate Student Success Career Coach & Employer Relations Liaison is $29.21 - $51.15 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Utilizing a theoretical understanding of career development, advises students/alumni on a full range of career processes, including individual or group advising/coaching, career planning, setting career goals, decision making, and improving job search competencies. Provides a holistic approach to student/alumni career counseling, modifies workshops and presentations as necessary; OR maintains relationships with potential employers, school admissions representatives, and other organizations to establish contacts to meet the career needs of students. Performs independently, but may receive guidance in developing new career advising/coaching services and Counsels undergraduate and graduate students and alumni on career options and opportunities, including customized services for specific populations.

The A. Gary Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Riverside, offers an integrated approach to career and academic advising. Our Student Success Advisors support one of five accredited MBA or Specialized master's programs offered by the Graduate Business School. We work with each student to guide their educational coursework in alignment with their career objectives. We are seeking an experienced career coaching professional to join our graduate business school’s career development team. In this hybrid role, the successful candidate will advise students on job search strategies and career development practices tailored to their prior professional experience, educational background, and experiential skills. In addition to student one-on-one, group advising, and training support services, this role will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with employers and industry partners to identify employment opportunities for students and develop long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships. Candidates should demonstrate strong relationship management skills and a commitment to excellent customer service. The ability to foster engaging and trusting relationships with a diverse student population is critical to the individual’s impact and success in the role. Prior experience in campus recruiting or early career talent development at a mid-to-large organization is highly desirable. Professionals with insight into functional career paths and business hiring trends are encouraged to apply. The salary range for this position is $83,900.00 - $106,800.00 annually.
