Job Summary
The University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for a Parking Enforcement Specialist! The position is part of the CU Boulder Parking Services Enforcement Team which is responsible for enforcement of all campus parking lots, loading docks and service parking spaces on campus. The Enforcement Specialists determine if the vehicles on campus have the appropriate access for where they are parked to ensure efficient campus operations. The Parking Services Department utilizes License Plate Recognition (LPR) software by Genetec, Inc., and AIMS Campus Permit Software by EDC Corp. CU Parking Services provides on-the-job training for all software and other systems used by the Enforcement Team. This position works with and assists all Parking Services units. Additionally, this position acts as a Parking Services "ambassador" through daily interactions with Campus partners and constituents while fulfilling the job duties across campus. This position has access to a University vehicle, radio, cell phone and laptop while working on campus to fulfill the enforcement functions required.

Parking Services is responsible for the construction, maintenance, enforcement, and permit sales for most of the university's existing and new parking facilities. We offer a variety of permit options to meet campus parking needs. In addition, Parking Services provides staffing and parking plans for thousands of annual campus events. We diligently strive to reduce and mitigate the impact of large campus events on daily university operations for permit holders and event guests.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Patrol University grounds for parking infractions and other issues that impede ingress and egress routes. This includes reviewing parking credentials and issuing citations.
- Work with Events and Facilities assisting with ingress and egress for events and working with contractors and project managers to ensure minimal impact to campus operations.
- Setup and maintain equipment for special events. This includes any non-routine enforcement for events where the incumbent will assist with the traffic direction, payment collection, or the verification of VIP credentials.
- Field questions and comments from campus constituents and guests regarding parking regulations. The incumbent is also responsible for conveying protocols and personnel assignments for special events. In addition, the incumbent will also communicate with vehicle owners regarding infractions and suggested remedies. The incumbent will also work with appropriate campus resources to resolve issues beyond their control.
- Respond to emergent needs as advised by department needs. This may also include collaboration with University Police to facilitate safety concerns for the campus and public good.

What We Require
- 1 year of customer service experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Smartphone operational knowledge.
- Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
- This position requires a valid Colorado driver's license (no special endorsements needed).

- The ability to confront the public in direct ways, without creating a hostile environment, with an ability to de-escalate a situation.
- The ability to write reports and have good oral and written communication skills to train, organize, educate, and supervise.

- Experience working in a larger (20,000 student population) university environment.
