At UConn Health, this position will work at UConn Health Pharmacy Services, Inc. This is a Specialty/Retail Pharmacy located at the Exchange 270 Farmington Avenue, Suite 108 Farmington, CT. This position will cover departmental staffing needs, including summer vacations, weekends and holidays. This is a temporary Pharmacy Student position with no benefits.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Must currently be a college level Pharmacy Student enrolled in an accredited Pharmacy Program.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must provide proof of student status upon hire. Acceptable documentation includes either a letter from academic advisor on letterhead; or a course schedule listing current term of enrollment, name of educational institute and student's name.
Must have current Pharmacy Intern license in the State of CT through Department of Consumer Protection.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Receives training in procedures for stocking and maintaining inventory in distribution of wholesale stock to outpatient clinics
Maintains pertinent operational records
Delivering, labeling and packaging of drug orders and prescriptions
Assists pharmacist in filling prescriptions from bulk stock
Types and affixes labels to containers showing identification data and directions for use
Checks all items for integrity and expiration dates
Ensures proper handling of cold chain products including specialty pharmaceuticals and vaccine products
Works with courier and shipping services to expedite product delivery
Records patient facing transactions on POS system
Completes register transactions, generating revenues by recording, calculating and issuing charges
Process third party pharmacy benefit billing claims and assist with prior authorization completion
Completing patient paperwork related to the filling of prescriptions
Maintains all work areas in a clean and orderly fashion
Attends training programs
Performs related duties as required
SCHEDULE: Part time, primarily days between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, evening and holidays as assigned, full time during winter and summer school breaks.
HOURLY RATE: $20.00/hour, no benefits.
