The Senior Institutional Research Programmer Analyst, under the direction of an Assistant Director or above, assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental data programs and/or stored procedures. Frequent internal contacts across organizational lines, particularly Academic Affairs, Information Technology Services, Enrollment Services, and Human Resources. Frequent contact with BOG personnel in the areas of Information Resource Management and Budget. Some contact with other external agency personnel.
Policy-making And/or Interpretation
Design computer-based information systems that adhere to BOG and university policies and procedures.
Program Direction And Development
Stay abreast of changes in reporting requirements and procedures. Develop and implement procedures that ensure continuity of data required for internal and external reporting. Organize and maintain customized data reporting system. Ensure the integrity of all data reporting.

Required Qualifications: This position requires either (a) Masters degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization; (b) Bachelors degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 6 years of direct experience.

Job Function
- Acts as a subject matter expert related to the technical aspects of the creation and distribution of data reports and interactive data dashboards.
- Designs, codes, tests, and revises existing programs and stored procedures. Produces detailed program and stored procedure specifications.
- Creates test data and creates and implements test plans.
- Adapts to new systems by creating new ways of performing old processes.
- Responds to internal and external ad-hoc requests with accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead the technical aspects of the creation and distribution of data reports and interactive data dashboards
- Consult with dashboard visual designers as needed to help troubleshoot data issues and identify possible solutions.
- Design, code, test, and revise existing programs and stored procedures primarily utilizing SQL programming language.
- Produce detailed program and store procedure specifications using the universitys approved data glossary tool.

- Develop and maintain data integration processes to ensure seamless data flow between current and new data systems.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement data-driven solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
- Responsible for representing IR and acting as a subject matter expert regarding proper database design.
- Advise the IR Office of the functional requirements of system upgrades in collaboration with ITS.
- Perform special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Coordinates activities with University officials at all levels through participation on committees, and through consultation.

- During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.
- Demonstrated experience with SQL.
- Experience with relational databases.
- Experience in designing reporting systems.
- Experience developing dashboards and data visualizations.
- Experience with Enterprise Reporting Platforms such as Banner or Workday.
- Experience working in a higher education setting preferred.
- Good written, oral, and analytical skills.
