This individual serves as the first point of contact for those visiting, phoning, or emailing the department. Job Description: The Undergraduate Studies Coordinator plays a key role in the Department of Economics. This individual serves as the first point of contact for those visiting, phoning, or emailing the department. Reporting to the Department Administrator, the Undergraduate Studies Coordinator’s top priorities will be to:
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Undergraduate Studies ( DUS ) and the undergraduate programs
- Enter course schedules and coordinate changes with the Registrar’s Office
- Monitor and assist with registration, including processing eForms, helping to resolve course-related issues, administering crosslistings, and assisting with room and schedule changes
- Coordinate and assist with various events for undergraduates, including the graduation ceremony and reception
- Collect syllabi and course descriptions from instructors
- Update the undergraduate website as needed
- Verify graduation list of economics majors, ECON honors, and concentration
- Manage and maintain departmental room reservations, supply inventory, office equipment, and bulletin boards
- Collaborate with the other department staff as a team to support the overall needs of the department
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of administrative experience
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to respond to multiple tasks and questions with frequent interruptions
- Must be self-motivated, take initiative, be able to prioritize tasks, and learn quickly
- Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of student files and departmental issues
- Experience with Google applications (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides) and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel)
- Excellent interpersonal abilities
