Reporting to the Senior Director, the Equal Opportunity Specialist II will conduct intake meetings; coordinate supportive measures; support discrimination and sexual misconduct (Title IX and non-Title IX) administrative grievance and resolution procedures; coordinate and monitor accommodations for pregnant and parenting students; assist with record documentation and required reporting; participate in training and outreach efforts; and monitor compliance activities. This position will serve as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and three years of experience in equal opportunity (e.g., Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, ADA), human resources, regulatory compliance or related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

What We Would Like You to Have – Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated understanding of equal opportunity laws and regulations (e.g., Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, ADA, etc.,).
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the department’s case management system (i.e., Maxient).
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement educational and training programs with effective presentation and facilitation skills and ability to adapt those skills to a variety of audiences.
- Experience conducting investigations and/or coordinating activities in an equal opportunity and/or sexual misconduct arena, preferably working in an institution of higher education.

- Coordinate and monitor accommodations for pregnant and parenting students under Title IX and collaborate with other departments under SB 412, when applicable, in accordance with university policies.
- Assist with intake of reports and complaints, including, but not limited to, complaint procedures and resolution options; supportive and/or interim measures; resource referrals; and appropriate documentation as assigned.
- Serve as an impartial fact finder as needed by conducting prompt, thorough, and equitable investigations while ensuring accuracy regarding facts, relevance, and documentation and adhering to associated timelines, internal protocols, and university policies. May assist with other types of compliance investigations as assigned.
- Develop well-written, detailed reports to be used as a primary source of evidence in informal and formal administrative grievance proceedings; and present investigative summaries to hearing panels and/or Appropriate Administrative Officers in accordance with university policies and procedures.
- Provide ongoing updates to the Senior Director, designated departmental staff, applicable stakeholders, and other administrators as necessary and appropriate.
- Assist with education and outreach activities; preparation of communication plans synthesizing and disseminating data and insights in a clear, concise, consistent, and intuitive manner; and other compliance initiatives as assigned.
- Partner with Student Affairs, Human Resources, and other areas to develop, implement, and document outreach efforts.
- Assist in ongoing internal monitoring of compliance activities (e.g., accurate documentation and records in case management system; required Title IX training for coordinators, investigators, hearing and appeal officers, institution-provided advisors, and others involved in the adjudication process; and continuing educational efforts by departmental staff and other departments).
- Prepare relevant quantitative and qualitative analyses for assigned tasks, required reports, and ad-hoc requests.
- Maintain current expertise in the field, including emerging regulatory obligations and trends, through meaningful and continuing engagement as well as professional development on best practices, leadership, program development and assessment, and institutional risk and compliance management.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
