What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Stormwater Inspector position at V3 Companies Ltd?
Project Stormwater Inspector in our Indianapolis, Indiana office. Qualified candidates must possess strong interpersonal communication skills, a work ethic focused on meeting clients’ needs as a top professional priority, and an eagerness to learn.
General responsibilities include:
- Reviewing stormwater BMPs on owner provided plans.
- Monitors rainfall data for individual project locations.
- Preparing cost estimate for site inspections based on site plans and location.
- Responsible for the weekly and storm event site inspections, reports, and activity log.
- Coordinate/discuss list of action items from inspections with on-site contractor or oversight person.
- Recommending alternative BMPs based on site conditions and performance/failure of installed BMPs.
- Attend site meetings or project calls as required.
- During the site inspections, monitor the site for any potential non-compliance for other federal, state, and local environmental permitting issues and report any instances to the owner.
- Retain all records and make them available to the owner for the required three-year retention period.
- Provides technical assistance for the owner as necessary.
- Provides environmental oversight on construction projects at the request of the owner.
- Follow owner’s safety requirements.
- Develop and submit new SWPPP as needed for approval.
- Prepare and file Notice of Intent/Notice of Termination per the local entity and State requirements.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and understanding of the following is required:
- All local government stormwater regulations;
- State of Indiana stormwater regulations;
- IDEM INRA00000 (Construction Stormwater General Permit);
- And EPA National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) 2022 Construction General Permit (CGP).
- Knowledge of stormwater regulations in surrounding states preferred.
- Stormwater certifications (Local and Nationally Recognized i.e., CPESC, CISEC)
- Maintain valid Indiana driver’s license.
Helpful:
- Understanding of construction practices and power line installation.
- General knowledge of wetland regulations and permitting process.
- Participate in the Coalition for Construction Safety program (CCS).
