Vaco is seeking a Payroll Specialist for one of our top clients in Tucson, AZ! The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and provides support for payroll-related inquiries, audits, and reporting. This is an onsite during training and will be HYBRID schedule only 3 days in the office, paying $30 to $32 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:

• Process biweekly, semimonthly, or monthly payrolls for hourly and salaried employees.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, wage changes, and deductions.
• Review and verify timecards, timekeeping records, and work schedules for accuracy and compliance.
• Calculate and process garnishments, bonuses, retroactive pay, and other special payroll items.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports to internal stakeholders and external agencies as needed.
• Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, deductions, taxes, and direct deposit.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with general ledger postings.
• Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to resolve discrepancies and support audits.
• Assist in year-end processes including W-2 preparation and payroll tax filings.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in payroll with strong tenure.
• Contract and FTE payroll experience, garnishments, W2s, and Payroll Taxes
