Staff Accountant! (Manufacturing experience required)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations within a shared services environment. This role plays a key part in transactional accounting, accrual processing, and month-end close activities, while ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies. The ideal candidate brings hands-on accounting experience from a manufacturing environment and thrives in a structured, fast-paced setting.

This position is best suited for a true accounting professional - not a financial analyst or finance-heavy profile.

• Perform accurate and timely weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities in accordance with established timelines

• Process bank-related transactions and maintain cash account reconciliations

• Prepare and post recurring journal entries

• Maintain prepaid expense amortization schedules

• Review general ledger activity and coordinate corrections or adjustments as needed

• Prepare standard monthly and quarterly general ledger account reconciliations

• Support reconciliation of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Sales, and intercompany accounts

• Assist with fixed asset accounting, including:

  • Tracking capital-in-progress (CIP) projects through in-service

  • Recording new tangible and intangible assets

  • Monthly depreciation (book and tax, with oversight)

  • Asset disposals and transfers

  • Reconciliation of the fixed asset subledger

• Support process improvements, automation, and standardization initiatives across accounting functions

• Assist with internal control remediation and audit-related requests

• Serve as a point of contact with FP&A, compliance, and operational partners for accounting data and reporting needs

• Prepare schedules and support external audit reviews

• Participate in special projects and ad hoc initiatives as assigned
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field

• Minimum of 4 years of general accounting experience

• Manufacturing industry experience required

• Strong experience with JD Edwards or similar large ERP systems

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, analysis)

• Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting processes

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
