Job Description
This position will report to Vanir’s Senior Program Director overseeing a major healthcare program in Seattle. The primary duties of a successful Project Director will focus on providing the overall planning, coordination, and direction for program and project management activities to ensure the team(s) meet owner needs, coordination, and direction for the program. Duties include ensuring the program and individual projects are on budget and schedule, and the design and deliverables fits the client’s requirements. This position will support design and construction and will be responsible for client interface, working with our sub-consultants, scope, schedule, and budget tasks as senior leadership through all the various phases.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Primary contact and liaison for owner and principal partner entities for the contract, design, systems, procedures and related deliverables
- Develop an implementation plan and master schedule that reflects the priorities of the client
- Supervise project team and ensures quality services consistent with Vanir procedures, client goals, and contract responsibilities on areas of safety, performance, and project staff
- Report and collaborate with client’s senior management team on all project matters
- Document and report all program/project data accurately and in a timely manner
- Manage program controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the client
- Be responsible for Program and Project financial planning, development, reviews, and reporting
- Track all program and project level status and provide management reports relative to scheduling, cost control, staffing and other related contract requirements
- Create and present program and project data clearly to multiple internal and external stakeholder groups
- Leads in project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses
- Coordinates, directs, and monitors activities of construction management staff, contractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
- Identify risk and create risk mitigation plans successfully
- Develop recommended actions and assist in resolving disputes relative to design and construction
- Provide management of program logistics, organization, safety, and manpower utilization
- Supervise project team and ensures quality services consistent with Vanir procedures, client goals, and contract responsibilities on areas of safety, performance, and project staff
- Coordinates, directs, and monitors activities of construction management staff, contractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
- Ensure contractor, architect, and engineer will adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment
- Employee development, including coaching, mentoring, supervisory and training techniques
- Other duties as required by the Program Director and or Area Manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or equivalent is required
- Ideal candidates will possess 10 years of experience providing program and program management services on healthcare projects and an additional 3 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager supervising staff
- OSHPD experience
- Advanced knowledge and application of master planning, A/E solicitation, project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts, and delivery methods
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related systems such as Prolog and Primavera
- Experience managing construction projects of 300M required
- Type 1 Hospital and MOB construction experience required
- Trauma 1 Hospital construction experience is preferred but not required
- Experience Working with Public Agency experience
- Advanced knowledge and application of master planning, A/E solicitation, project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required
- PMP Plan Development experience required. PMP Certification is optional
- DBIA experience and/or Alternative Delivery Method experience required.
- Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) AP and/or LEED certification experience required. LEED Certification is preferred
- Master Planning/Programming experience is desired
- CMAA - Certified Construction Manager (CCM) is preferred
Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $145,000.00-$181,000.00.
