What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUPERINTENDENT position at Vantage Builders Inc?
Position Summary: The Construction Superintendent will lead and manage the on-site construction team and oversee all work on site. The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for orderliness on site and ensure compliance with safety regulations. They will ensure quality standards are met and will be the primary contact onsite for contractors, inspectors, client, architect, and engineers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Safety:
- Enforce the Vantage Safety Program, including but not limited to 100% PPE requirement, building/client specific safety programs and OSHA compliance.
- Complete Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) on first day of project to highlight potential project safety issues and concerns.
- Complete Pre-Task Plan as required by client, but as needed for high-risk work including confined space work, hoists/lifts/scaffolding, hot permit work, abatement/remediation, etc.
- Complete weekly Procore Safety Inspection.
- Participate in onsite safety inspections performed by an outside consultant (Contract Risk Management).
- Lead weekly Toolbox Talk sessions with all manpower onsite.
Schedule:
- Maintain project schedule, alert Project Team to any issues that impact the schedule.

Coordinate with Subcontractors to ensure:
- They know when to mobilize.
- Their work is on schedule.
- They have sufficient manpower.
- Equipment and materials will be available when required.
- Complete daily report in Procore.
- Complete two week look ahead tied back to baseline project schedule. Discuss same in weekly client meeting.
Quality Control:
- Inspect all materials received onsite prior to installation to ensure they comply with approved submittals.
- Primary individual responsible for QA/QC for all scope of work to be performed within the contract, as well as abutting and adjacent areas.
- Complete rolling punch-list in Procore and manage architect/client punch-list at project completion.
Client Relations:
- Attend client meetings prepared to lead the discussion on Safety, Two Week Look Ahead Schedule, pending RFIs and/or submittals that are or will impact the overall project schedule, visitors on site, inspections, etc.
- Coordinate with client/building manager to minimize impact to adjacent areas, employees and other tenants. Communicate needs for testing and shut-downs well in advance.
- Point of contact onsite for client/owner/landlord/architect/engineer to answer all field questions and to address all concerns.

Prepare Weekly Eblast:
- Highlight progress from that week.
- Share Photos
- Update on upcoming week’s activities
- Forward to entire project team including client, architect, engineer(s), Project Executive, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Direct of Operations, Vantage Principals and Marketing.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, plus 3-10 years construction supervision experience.
- Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Experience with Procore or other Project Management software.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills required.
- Detail-oriented and strong follow-up skills.
- Self-motivated and passionate about delivering exceptional client service.
