What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culinary Cook position at Vincentian Collaborative System?
Summary:
Responsible for food preparation in accordance with established menus, recipes, and sanitary standards. Complies with applicable federal, state and local standards, as well as facility policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

3. Promotes and supports a resident centered care environment that ensures the treatment of all residents, family members, visitors, fellow employees and customers with kindness, respect, and dignity.
4. Adheres to all facility and department work rules, policies and procedures.
5. Maintains a safe work environment. Incorporates safety/risk management standards into daily job performance.
6. Maintains the care and use of supplies, equipment, and the appearance of work areas and perform regular inspection of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
7. Performs job functions in a manner that promotes efficient use of resources.
8. Prepares regular and special diet foods according to approved recipes.
9. Follows the approved food production schedule.
10. Determines items requiring advanced preparation to meet future menu requirements and properly prepares stores or preserves such items.
11. Assists in the preparation and/or service of foods required for special functions and events.
12. Serves food from steam table during meal service periods.
13. Cleans and sanitizes main cooking and preparation areas, food storage, refrigeration and freezers, hot food cabinets and any other area that comes into contact with food according to state health standards.
14. Assists in the training of newly employed food production personnel.
15. Sets up and arranges steam table area for foods to be served on resident food trays.
16. Reports any item that does not meet department specifications to supervisor.
17. Assures items needed to meet menu requirements are available.
18. Inspects and tastes food for correct seasoning, quality and proper serving temperature.
19. Performs all other duties assigned.
20. Required to support the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and Compliance Program by timely reporting any actual or suspected compliance, fraud and abuse, ethics or policy violations.
Education/Experience:
1. High school graduate or equivalent required.
2. Minimum of one year institutional/health care cooking experience with a thorough knowledge of quantity food preparation, sanitation standards and procedures, portion control required.
