Ensure accuracy of data into company’s procedural analytics tool.
Work with other members and data acquisition consultants to meet data specification requirements for procedural analytics tool.
Run SQL queries to extract and transform data from the member’s Electronic Health Record system to company’s required format.
Perform data quality checks (data type validation, range and criteria validation, and cross file validation) on data to ensure data completeness and correctness.
Implement data into the database within designated time frame.
Analyze data and create Data Quality Reports.
Analyze clinical, supply and physician related data.
Create comprehensive report that highlights trends, volumes and discrepancies in data for members to review.
Verify procedure codes and supply data are accurate for procedures performed on the patient.
Perform comparative analysis of member’s data against company’s benchmarks.
Utilize SQL, Advanced Excel tools, Tableau and Paxata to create reports.
Present analysis results to members and manage tight deadlines.
Share comprehensive report with subject matter experts at member facilities.
Leverage quantitative skills and knowledge of health care industry to highlight discrepancies in data.
Work iteratively with members to resolve format issues, technical issues and content issues.
Share how the data will appear in company tool and validate data with members before data is loaded into application.
Educate members on procedural analytics tool methodology and exceptions.
Aid in development of new tools to process member data.
Collaborate with cross functional team of IT professionals to determine, test and implement business data requirements.
Recommend new utilities in the tool that improve data intake process and overall member experience.
Technical writing.
Document business processes and update documentation as needed .
Update new hire training guide and support onboarding and training process for new analysts.
In connection with above duties, utilize experience in: running SQL scripts to retrieve data from multiple tables within Oracle databases; statistical programming in R and Python to m anipulate, clean, and analyze data; i nstalling, setting up and configuring Oracle 11gR2/ 12c RAC and single instance databases and troubleshoot database related problems; creating backup plan design and implementation using cold/hot backups and RMAN backup technology; automating DBA tasks by utilizing SQL and UNIX shell scripting for monitoring Oracle database status, security, and backups; analyzing, recommending, and implementing Oracle Active Data Guard (Standby Database) to facilitate data protection, site redundancy, and disaster recovery; data mining methods including decision trees, neural networks, machine learning, principal component analysis, regression analysis, and clustering; r ecognizing and interpreting patterns, trends, and variances into meaningful information; identifying areas of opportunity to grow, increase profitability, and optimize effectiveness of service; d iagnosing and resolving performance issues associated with SQL tuning and resource contention including locks and deadlocks; AWS components including EC2, S3, Elastic Load Balancing and IAM; using version control tools including Git and Bitbucket for managing source code repositories; and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Terraform, Maven and Docker. Also utilize experience in: managing and modifying electronic health information systems to improve workflow and serve new purposes as needed; c reating dashboards and automated reports to replace crude methods and save time by analyzing clinical, supply, billing, and patient satisfaction survey data in R to identify aberrant trends and issues that impact quality of service or result in low ROI; presenting data-driven recommendations with concise data visualization of results to business administrators; supporting periodic financial and clinical quality audits to ensure compliance; utilizing knowledge of the healthcare industry (insurance, providers, members, MCOs, HIPPA) and medical coding concepts (procedure codes, diagnosis codes, CPT codes and claims data); extracting, cleaning and integrating data from disparate health information systems; de-identifying patient data to protect patient privacy; managing user privileges and access to EHR systems to ensure HIPPA compliance; applying advanced excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, VBA, Macros) to explore relationships in the data; developing and updating data operations and data quality standards; applying explorative, predictive and prescriptive data analysis methods on patient data; data reporting and visualization in Tableau; and presenting research/ data analysis results and recommendations to stakeholders.
