Senior AI Engineer (San Francisco)

Join us in a high-impact role where you'll shape the future of visual generative technology for social media. At my client, they're building the industry's leading AI-first social media management platform-empowering brands to grow fanbases, nurture audiences, and drive revenue. Now, we're expanding our capabilities to include cutting-edge image and video generation.

We've raised $3M in seed funding from top-tier investors including Mayfield, Jackson Square Ventures, Lemniscap, Shakti, and Aperiam. As an early-stage startup, we're seeking partners who bring both technical prowess and the self-starter spirit to help define my client's trajectory. You'll report directly to our CTO and collaborate closely with other engineering leaders, but ultimately drive projects with minimal oversight-your work here will leave a lasting impact.

What You'll Do

• Build Next-Generation Models: Design and implement generative AI models for images and video, while staying up-to-date with the research frontier.

• Optimize for Social: Develop vision models that excel in social media contexts, aiming for high engagement and brand impact.

• Collaborate & Innovate: Work with cross-functional teams-including designers, product managers, and other engineers-to conceive and prototype new features that drive measurable results.

• Scale & Deploy: Research, experiment, and productionize state-of-the-art architectures to support large-scale user bases and data volumes across multiple platforms.

• Strategize & Execute: Contribute to the overall AI roadmap, champion best practices, and help shape Scrollmark's future with generative imagery and video.

What We're Looking For

• 5 Years of Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience (2019 graduate or earlier), with a proven track record in computer vision or deep learning.

• Hands-On Generative AI Skills: Strong familiarity with state-of-the-art techniques such as DreamBooth and/or training LoRAs for vision models. You've shipped or published work in generative models for images or video.

• System Design Knowledge: Experience architecting scalable solutions-whether fine-tuning for speed, optimizing inference pipelines, or balancing cost efficiency with cutting-edge performance.

• Social Media Insight: Previous exposure to building or integrating AI solutions within social platforms is a huge plus.

• Self-Starter Attitude: Comfortable taking initiative and independently driving projects from concept to completion in a fast-paced environment.
