Job Description
As an Industrial Electrician at West Fraser, you will perform routine electrical/electronic preventative maintenance on mill equipment.
- Wiring circuits and replacing components are key tasks in this role.
- You will work with vendors to identify needed parts and recommend them to the Supervisor.
- Updating instrumentation loop diagrams, E & I drawings, blueprints, and schematics is crucial for success in this position.
- Programming AC & DC variable speed drivers is also an essential task.
- Installing electrical equipment, achieving production goals while prioritizing employee safety, and effectively evaluating and improving maintenance procedures are all key responsibilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Lock out/Tag out procedures and Field Level Hazard Risk Assessments (FLHRA) are critical skills for this role.
- Electrical circuitry and components knowledge, including circuit breakers, motors, and controllers, is also required.
- Predictive and Preventive maintenance, computer, and PLC skills are necessary for success in this position.
- Effective communication and the ability to function independently are also essential.
Experience
- Allen Bradley PLC5, Allen Bradley ControlLogix 5000, Allen Bradley Panelviews, and Allen Bradley Communications – Devicenet & Ethernet experience is highly valued.
- Scanning and Optimization systems within the Lumber Business (Porter, USNR) and Process Network Communication Systems and Components – Ethernet & Fiber Optic experience are also desirable.
